AU Presents at Belleville's PLA Conference May 2009

CLA was represented by Mentorship Coordinator Fran Holler at the recent 20th Annual PLA Conference hosted by FNTI in Belleville, Ontario. Fran's presentation, entitled Unity Through Integration: PLA Practice at Athabasca University (PPT presentation), outlined AU's integration of PLAR into the university's structure, operationally and academically. AU PLAR process to be represented on US panel at CAEL in November 2009

Following the inclusion of AU's PLAR process in the 2008 US publication Prior learning portfolios: A representative collection (Ed. Denise Hart & Jerry Hickerson), CLA's Director Dianne Conrad has been invited to sit on a panel at the 2009 CAEL conference to further discuss institutional systems of assessing learners' prior experiential knowledge.
